Delhi makes provisions to deliver services in stipulated time frame
The Delhi government will implement the act providing better and time bound services to the people, and laying penalties for delay by officials, from Sep 15, an official said on Friday.
Delhi Chief Secretary P.K. Tripathi held a meeting with all heads of departments and instructed them to gear up their working set-up to strictly implement the Delhi (Right of Citizen to Time Bound Delivery Of Services) Act, 2011.
He also instructed all departmental heads to prepare a citizens' charter with full details of the services to be provided by each department and also on their websites.
He said that each department has been a given a fixed and stipulated time for delivering the service to the citizens.
A fine of Rs.10 per day subject to a maximum of Rs.200 per application has been made liable to be paid by the concerned officer to the citizen as a compensation for delay in delivering the services within the time frame set as per the Citizen Charter.
