Traders call Bharat Bandh on 1Dec on FDI in Retail Sector
The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) have called for a nationwide shutdown on December 1 in protest against Foreign Direct Investment FDI in retail sector. Traders across the country are protesting against the decision of the UPA government to allow 51 per cent foreign direct investment in multi-brand retail and 100 per cent in single brand retail.
Various political parties like BJP, JKNPP, Shiv Sena and Left parties have extended their support to the Bharat Bandh called by Confederation of All India Traders. CAIT Secretary-General Praveen Khandelwal said over 10,000 trade organisations were expected to participate in the bandh.
