Union Cabinet to meet today for final touches to draft note

The Union Cabinet is expected to meet on 19 december evening to discuss the Lokpal Bill. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh chaired a high-level meeting yesterday on the cabinet note on the contentious bill that is to circulated today.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is said to be giving the final touches to a draft of the Bill and expressed hope of resolving all outstanding issues to ensure that the bill is cleared by the cabinet.Anna Hazare has also raised questions over the selection process of the nine-member Lokpal as recommended by the Standing Committee.
