Nelson Mandela will feature on South African Bank Notes

South Africa's first democratically elected President and former anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela's image will feature on all south african bank notes. The announcement made by Current President Jacob Zuma.

The announcement of replacing banknotes with new series bearing Nelson Mandela's image was made to coincide with his 22nd anniversary of release from prison, where he served 27 years for fighting against Apartheid. Mandela was the first President of South Africa after the end of apartheid in 1994.
