Bus crash kills 28 in Switzerland, mostly children
Twenty two children and six adults died when a tourist bus slammed head-on into a tunnel wall carrying Belgian kids home from a class ski trip. The accident took place in the Valais region of Switzerland.
Belgian bus transporting 52 people on board, mostly school children aged about 12 from Lommel and Heverlee in Flanders hit the wall of an emergency stop inside the tunnel. They were traveling home after a ski holiday in the Swiss Alps.
