Odisha govt to swap 27 Maoist prisoners for MLA, Italian
The Odisha government decided to set free 27 Maoists exchange for the release of Biju Janata Dal MLA of Laxmipur Jhina Hikaka and Italian national Bosusco Paolo abducted by two separate Naxal groups.
The italian national and the MLA are in Maoist's captivity since 14 and 24 March 2012. This announced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik came jsut before the April 5 deadline set by the Maoists for fulfillment of their demands. 27 Maoists, who will be released, 15 of them are members of the Chasi Muliya Adivasi Sangha (CMAS) and eight are Left-wing extremists in Koraput and Malkangiri jails, the two Naxal-infested districts in Odisha.
