Cricketer Rahul Sharma tests positive for consumption of drugs


Indian leg-spinner Rahul Sharma tested positive for consumption of drugs in a alleged rave party in Mumbai. Rahul and his Pune Warriors teammate Wayne Parnell were among the 94 people detained by the Mumbai police after a raid at a rave party in a Mumbai suburb on May 20, 2012. They were part of the 44 whose test results were awaited.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that it will first like to examine the facts about Rahul Sharma being tested positive for drugs before reaching a decision. Rahul is a part of India's limited-overs squad in Sri Lanka. This is a another blow for Indian cricket's image after the Indian Premier League (IPL) scandal, where five uncapped cricketers from different teams were allegedly caught indulging in corrupt practices, including spot fixing.
