India ranks second for education related search on Google

According to a recent Google India study, India ranked second after the US in the number of education queries on Google with over half of the Indian Internet population in the age bracket of 18-35. The study titled 'Students on the web' compiled by Google India.

India was ranked 8 in 2008 and has risen from the eighth position over the last four years. The study was a combination of Google search query patterns and an offline research conducted by TNS Australia on behalf of Google India. Of all the education related search queries on search engine Google, over 40 per cent of queries were for higher education courses and institutes. IIT Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad were the most searched in their respective categories.
