IICT scientist selected for NASI Young Scientist Award
The Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad scientist Dr Surya Prakash Singh, has been selected for National Academy of Sciences (NASI) young scientist platinum jubilee award for the year 2012. He is selected for the award for his contribution to the field of solar cell research.
He works in the Inorganic and Physical Chemistry division of the city-based IICT. He made contributions in the field of Chemical Sciences and research work on dye based solar cell using organic compounds. Singh authored over 60 papers in science journals besides having edited two books and penned chapters for as many books. This is the first time a scientist from IICT gets this award. NASI, the oldest science academy of the country, selects bright and young scientists below the age of 35 years for this award every year.
