Terrorists attack on Kamra airbase in Pakistan
On 16 August, a group of terrorists armed with sophisticated weapons and suicide vests attacked Kamra airbase, a key Air Force base in Pakistan’s Punjab province. The airbase is believed to house nuclear weapons.
According to Pakistan Air Force spokesman, seven militants and two Pakistani military personnel were killed in the attack. The attack began about 2 am at the Minhas base, about 37 miles northwest of Islamabad. The militants were equipped with RPGs and automatic weapons. They breached at least three barriers and tried to target Saab, 2000 surveillance aircraft.
